A Message From Our Pastor

Allow me this opportunity to introduce you to Massapequa Bible Ministries. We are a fundamental, independent Baptist ministry desiring to reach the people of Massapequa and the surrounding areas with the good news of the Gospel of Christ.

Our message is that of faith. Faith is one of the most widely discussed subjects within the world of religion today, but few people really try to understand what scriptural or saving faith is. First of all, scriptural faith originates from God through the hearing of His Word. Romans 10:17 states,..."So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." Secondly, true faith is a gift from God. "....For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." Ephesians 2:8-9. Faith is not obtained by works. Thirdly, faith is a result from an action of God towards man which causes a reaction known as belief or trust from man towards God. Romans 4:3 says, "....For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness." Abraham had a proper reaction to the faith given him by God. What, then is faith? It is simply the link between the soul of man and Christ. It is the soul receiving or believing in the Lord Jesus Christ.

However, don't make a savior of faith. This is one of satan's wiles. The less you look at your faith and the more you look at the Divine Object of it the better. Faith is merely the instrument: Christ is the agent. It is not the strength or weakness of your faith, but Christ that saves. Jesus says in John 6:37 "....All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me; and him that cometh to Me I will in no ways cast out."

Friend, is your faith a saving faith anchored in the Person who is able to save? If I Can be of ministry to help you come to saving faith, or help you to grow in your faith, please make your need known to me. I am here to be God's servant to you.
